We will ensure that a retirement with dignity is the right and expectation of every single American, starting with pension reform, expanding saving incentives and preventing the privatization of social security. Over the past 70 years, Democrats have fought to strengthen and improve Social Security to better help America's families and today we are committed to shoring it up through real reform. Democrats are willing to work with Republicans to address Social Security's challenges only after privatization is taken off the table. Don't Privatize Social Security. The Bush administration's plan to partially privatize Social Security would be disastrous for the program and our nation. The program is in far better shape than the Bush administration claims, even with the conservative forecasts used by most analysts taken into accoutn.
