are unwavering in our support of equal opportunity for all Americans. That's why we've worked to pass
every one of our nation's Civil Rights laws, and every law that protects workers. Most recently,
Democrats stood together to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act.

Californians, we are proud to live in the most diverse state in the nation. We recognize our cultural
diversity as the core of our nation's strength, and promote inclusion as a means of achieving
individual excellence and national unity. Democrats believe that our immigration system should be
safe, legal and consistent with American values of freedom, opportunity and fair play.
California Democratic Party: Women. California
is the proud home of pioneering women who have blazed new trails in business, entrepreneurship,
culture and politics. Democrats respect women as full partners in family and society. We proudly and
vigorously support a woman's right to choose how to use her mind, her body and her time.
Research Documents Protecting and Expanding Civil Rights in America. Just 45 days after the September 11 attacks, with virtually no debate, Congress passed the USA Patriot Act. Many parts of this sweeping legislation take away checks on law enforcement and threaten the very rights and freedoms Democrats have striven mightily to protect.
