Jennifer Newsom introduced herself as founder of the Miss Representation project. She shared information regarding her husband Gavin, who is running for Governor of California.

 

b. Request to Rescind Endorsement of Measure A (City of Santa Clara Charter Amendment)

Proponents and Opponents of Measure A presented their statements to members in lieu of the action item to rescind the previous action of voting to endorse Measure A.

Motion to rescind vote Vote passes 40-12

 

c. Guest: Amanda Renteria, Candidate for Governor

Amanda Renteria presented her background and why she is running for Governor of California.

d. Focus on Housing: Louis Mirante No presentation

e. Endorsement: Measure C

Motion to endorse Yes on Measure C - passed unanimously

 

f. Endorsement: Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond- Senator Jim Beall

Senator Beall presented information SB3 that passed last year and spoke to the values of the proposition (not named) supporting veterans and affordable housing. Motion to support passed unanimously.

g. [proposed emergency] Resolution Condemning the Conduct and Candidacy of Pierluigi Oliverio

Emergency Resolution condemning the conduct and candidacy of Pierluigi Oliverio presented by members of DAWN Board.

Need motion to allow for discussion of Emergency Resolution. Motion to allow discussion of emergency Resolution passes 40 -1.

Correspondence between Ed Kraus, Attorney for Pierluigi Oliverio is noted and entered into record. (see attached).

Letter from Emailie Gatfield read into record by Emy Thurber.

DAWN formally presented Resolution. Attorney for Pierluigi spoke on his behalf to oppose. Motion to approve Resolution passes 32 2.
