{"id":10352,"date":"2021-05-07T00:12:53","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T07:12:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sccdp.org\/?p=10352"},"modified":"2021-06-04T17:08:09","modified_gmt":"2021-06-05T00:08:09","slug":"may-2021-central-committee-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sccdp.org\/index.php\/2021\/05\/07\/may-2021-central-committee-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"May 2021 Central Committee Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Thursday, May 6, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee heard from Special Guest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HopeCahanFalmouth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Falmouth City Council Member Hope Cahan<\/a> and Guest Speaker <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sccgov.org\/sites\/da\/aboutus\/aboutthedistrictattorney\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">District Attorney Jeff Rosen<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee voted to support AB 20, the Corporate-Free Elections Act, and a set of 12 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Climate-Action-bills.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Climate Action bills<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two resolutions were passed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Resolution-Condemning-the-Recent-Surge-in-Hate-Crimes-Targeting-Asian-Americans.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Universal-Child-Care.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resolution in Support of California Universal Child Care<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Resolution-to-Endorse-SB-435-to-End-Online-Sex-Trafficking.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Condemning-Statement-by-Larry-Stone.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resolution Condemning Statement by Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Six members were elected to the CADEM Executive Board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bill James<\/li><li>Angelica Ramos<\/li><li>Michael Vargas<\/li><li>Sousan Manteghi<\/li><li>Ruben Navarro<\/li><li>Roxanne<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, May 6, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions: The Committee heard from Special Guest Falmouth City Council Member Hope Cahan and Guest Speaker District Attorney Jeff Rosen.
