{"id":10413,"date":"2021-06-04T17:07:31","date_gmt":"2021-06-05T00:07:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sccdp.org\/?p=10413"},"modified":"2021-07-02T22:29:18","modified_gmt":"2021-07-03T05:29:18","slug":"june-2021-central-committee-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sccdp.org\/index.php\/2021\/06\/04\/june-2021-central-committee-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"June 2021 Central Committee Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Thursday, June 3, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee heard from Special Guest Ken Yeager, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baymecfoundation.org\" target=\"_blank\">BAYMEC Community Foundation<\/a><\/strong>, about an exhibit &#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/contactkenonthego.activehosted.com\/social\/43ec517d68b6edd3015b3edc9a11367b.82?fbclid=IwAR2W50862DLCnm5MHgDWMGVzMoeXe4nBg_-s0KVLE3Ys1gowuQlxvV01XLY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Coming Out: 50 Years of Queer Resistance and Resilience in Silicon Valley<\/a><\/strong>,&#8221; scheduled to open June 24, 2021, at History San Jos\u00e9 (aka \u201cHistory Park\u201d) and from Special Guest Milan Balinton, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sjaacsa.org\" target=\"_blank\">AACSA<\/a><\/strong>, about the <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sjaacsa.org\/juneteenth\/home\" target=\"_blank\">40th Annual Juneteenth in the Park<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Progressive Democrats for Social Justice made a presentations about a potential legal challenge to <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=GOV&amp;sectionNum=3205.\" target=\"_blank\">Gov\u2019t Code \u00a73205<\/a><\/strong> (county employee solicitation of candidate donations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notice was given of a vacancy in AD 29, to be filled at the next meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One resolution was passed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Resolution-Condemning-the-Recent-Surge-in-Hate-Crimes-Targeting-Asian-Americans.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Resolution-In-Support-of-Opportunity-Housing-in-Santa-Clara-County.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resolution In Support of Opportunity Housing in Santa Clara County<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Two resolutions presented for emergency consideration failed to gain the two-thirds support required for such consideration.
