{"id":16381,"date":"2023-06-01T20:56:57","date_gmt":"2023-06-02T03:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sccdp.org\/?p=16381"},"modified":"2023-07-13T21:28:23","modified_gmt":"2023-07-14T04:28:23","slug":"june-2023-central-committee-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sccdp.org\/index.php\/2023\/06\/01\/june-2023-central-committee-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"June 2023 Central Committee Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We filled a vacancy on the SCCDCC in AD 25, elected six SCCDCC members to the DSCC Executive Board, heard a guest presentation regarding the Importance of Housing Supply to Provide Housing Security and Reduce Homelessness, adopted a Resolution Opposing Diversion of Measure E Housing Bond Funds, voted to support AB 28 (Gabriel) Firearms and ammunition: excise tax, discussed the upcoming Youth Takeover, July 13, 2023 and the SCCDCC and Clubs Multicultural Day event, August 13, 2023, 2pm-5pm, and heard a CADEM Convention Report\/Debrief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One resolution was passed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Resolution-Opposing-Diversion-of-Measure-E-Housing-Bond-Funds.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Resolution Opposing Diversion of Measure E Housing Bond Funds<\/strong><\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Letter-to-San-Jose-City-Council-re-Measure-E.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Letter to the Mayor and City Council of San Jose regarding Measure E funds<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One State legislative bill was supported:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240AB28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AB 28 (Gabriel) Firearms and ammunition: excise tax<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These upcoming events were announced:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sjaacsa.org\/juneteenth\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Juneteenth, Saturday, June 17, 2023, 12pm-7pm, San Jose SOFA District<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"\/index.php\/events\/dean-club-annual-potluck-picnic-election-of-officers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dean Club Picnic and Election of Officers, June 24, 2023, 11 am &#8211;
