I am so honored to be co-hosting, with Supervisor Susan Ellenberg and others, a special brunch meet and greet with our newly inducted Speaker of the California State Assembly, Robert Rivas, on Saturday, August 19th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing portions of Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties, Speaker Rivas is the proud grandson of immigrant farmworkers. Through his lived experiences, he understands the value of opportunity for our current and future generations. Speaker Rivas was unanimously elected by the Assembly Democratic Caucus as the 71st Speaker of the California State Assembly late last year and was inducted earlier this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
