Endorsement Process

Attention Democrats!

The Santa Clara County Democratic Party has the sole authority to confer an official Democratic Party endorsement on Democrats running for nonpartisan office in local and county races and local and county ballot initiatives within Santa Clara County. 

All endorsements are made in accordance with SCCDP bylaws, based on the adopted party platform, and include a โ€œno endorsementโ€ option.


Candidate Interest Form โ€“ 2026 Endorsement Cycle

Thank you for your interest in seeking endorsement from the Democratic Party.

The 2026 endorsement cycle has officially commenced.

How the Endorsement Process Works

  1. Submit the Candidate Interest Form
    Completion of the form allows us to share endorsement timelines, deadlines, and materials with you.
  2. Receive the Endorsement Questionnaire
    Candidates will be emailed the most up-to-date endorsement questionnaire.
  3. Questionnaire Submission
    A completed questionnaire must be submitted to the Endorsements Chair by the stated deadline. Deadline details will be communicated via email.
  4. Panel Interviews
    Candidate panel interviews will be conducted during theย month of August.
  5. Endorsement Decision
    Consideration of the Endorsement Committeeโ€™s recommendations for Round 1 contested races will occur at the September 3, 2026 Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee meeting.

Note 1: Only those clubs that were chartered during or prior to the SCCDP biannual chartering process in January 2025 will have a vote. Any club that was chartered by the central committee subsequently will be eligible to vote after the next rechartering process.
