Join Santa Clara County Democratic Interns and make a real impact on local politics through hands-on experience in voter engagement, policy research, and community organizing. The program accepts intern applicants on a year-round, rolling basis. Each week, interns will have to commit approximately 10 hours or the appropriate time needed to complete their assigned tasks.
What Our Interns Do
- Voter Engagement / GOTV
- Get people excited about democracy and help them participate in the political process
- Host phone banks to reach voters directly
- Organize canvassing campaigns in neighborhoods
- Plan pre-protest parties and youth engagement events
- Set up tabling for voter registration drives
- Ensure every voice is heard by maximizing voter turnout during critical elections
- Coordinate voter contact operations
- Organize poll monitoring
- Plan election day logistics
- Youth Takeover Planning
- Lead our signature annual event where young voices shape the Democratic Party’s official positions
- Research and draft policy resolutions
- Coordinate with youth organizations across the county
- Organize presentation strategies
- Submit resolutions that become official party stances
- Data Analysis & Research
- Dive deep into the numbers and trends that drive political decision-making
- Analyze voter turnout patterns
- Research policy impacts and outcomes
- Track demographic trends
- Prepare briefings for party leadership

- Amplify our message and engage with the community through digital platforms
- Create advocacy campaigns for key issues
