We invite you to join us for our September luncheon, when we traditionally celebrate working people and the labor movement. This year we’re excited to engage in a conversation with Jean Cohen, Executive Officer of the South Bay AFL-CIO Labor Council, one of the largest and most influential labor organizations in the Bay Area.

In her role, Jean leads a federation of more than 100 affiliated unions representing over 100,000 working families across Santa Clara and San Benito Counties. She oversees the Council’s policy, organizing, and electoral programs, advancing worker protections, union organizing and collective bargaining campaigns, and equitable economic development through coordinated labor and community action.
Jean serves on the boards of Team San José, Working Partnerships USA, and NOVAworks, and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum. She is Vice Chair of the Santa Clara County Democratic Party and currently serves on the Santa Clara County Planning Commission.
Born and raised in San José, Jean is the proud daughter of a union teacher and a union musician. She holds a master’s degree in 21st Century Leadership from Saint Mary’s College of California.
