Join the Democratic 21st Century Club for our October luncheon, when we’ll engage in a conversation with Trent Lange, Executive Director of the California Clean Money Campaign. He will speak with us about campaign finance reform in general and Proposition 4, the California Fair Elections Act, which will be on the November ballot.

Dr. Lange has served on the board of the California Clean Money Campaign since 2003 and became Executive Director in 2009.  He has been a spokesperson, lobbyist, and policy expert for CCMC, analyzing campaign spending and proposing solutions to campaign finance issues both for California and elsewhere. This work includes leading the campaign for AB 249, the California DISCLOSE Act, the first law in the nation to make political ads clearly show their true funders even if they try to hide behind layers of front groups, and AB 1416, the Ballot DISCLOSE Act, the first law in the nation to show every voter who’s for and against ballot measures by adding to the ballot a short list of supporters and opponents from the voter guide.

Dr. Lange holds a Ph.D. from UCLA, with a multidisciplinary academic background in computer science, cognitive science, and cognitive psychology, and is the author of over 20 academic publications.  He was formerly President and CEO of Lange Fund Management, LLC., which ran small but successful market-neutral hedge funds.
