Please join Reclaim Our Vote – Silicon Valley as we welcome Andrea Miller, the Virginia-based founder of the Reclaim Our Vote campaign, for our only South Bay fundraiser in 2019, Saturday September 28th, 3:00 to 6:00 PM, United Church of Christ, 400 W. Campbell Ave, Campbell. ($20 minimum donation.)
Andrea will speak about ROV’s efforts (in partnership with the NAACP, Black Voters Matter, Mi Familia Vota, DemLabs and several other organizations) to reach out to voters of color in several key states like Virginia, North Carolina, Arizona, Texas and Pennsylvania, to get them registered and then to the polls for the all-important 2019 Virginia statewide and 2020 federal elections.
This event will also feature the South Bay premiere of a brand new 35-minute film, Suppressed: the Fight to Vote, about voter suppression in Georgia during the 2018 midterm elections. All this plus great refreshments, postcard-writing for the Virginia statewide elections, and knowing your $20 minimum donation could make a difference for voters of color in key swing states in 2020. Sign up here and please forward this message to friends and colleagues. Hope to see you there!!
This Reclaim Our Vote September 28th fundraiser in Campbell is the only fundraiser we’re holding in the South Bay in all of 2019. And, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. The money will go towards purchases of get-out-the-vote billboards, radio ads and texting phone numbers in the South, and to hire a few senior, low-income African American women as temporary phone bankers in Virginia, among other important tools for voter outreach. It will be a great event!
Please forward this notice to your membership or to any interested South Bay friends.
