June 2021 Central Committee Recap

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

The Committee heard from Special Guest Ken Yeager, BAYMEC Community Foundation, about an exhibit “Coming Out: 50 Years of Queer Resistance and Resilience in Silicon Valley,” scheduled to open June 24, 2021, at History San José (aka “History Park”) and from Special Guest Milan Balinton, AACSA, about the 40th Annual Juneteenth in the Park.

The Progressive Democrats for Social Justice made a presentations about a potential legal challenge to Gov’t Code §3205 (county employee solicitation of candidate donations).

Notice was given of a vacancy in AD 29, to be filled at the next meeting.

One resolution was passed:

Two resolutions presented for emergency consideration failed to gain the two-thirds support required for such consideration. The resolutions are returned to the Executive Board for consideration under regular order at a future Central Committee meeting.

  • Resolution in Support of H.R. 2590, The Palestinian Children and Families Act
  • Resolution in Support of Peace, Not Apartheid in Palestine

The Meeting was adjourned In Memory of the VTA Rail Yard Victims.
