Invite you to attend a presentation on “Communications for Candidates”.
SCCDP Communications Director John Comiskey will cover the basics of formulating your message and getting it out to voters. The presentation will consist of basic communication skills for first time and novice candidates, campaign volunteers, and others. More experienced attendees are welcome.
The purpose is to help the attendees formulate a message and communicate it clearly to voters. Better candidates will run better campaigns, resulting in better office holders being elected.
The presentation will be given the third Thursday each month from August through November from 7 PM until 9 PM. Those dates are 8/17, 9/21, 10/19, and 11/16.

Central Committee members adopted a Special Rule enabling the Youth Takeover meeting, by unanimous consent,
The Youth Delegates then conducted a meeting in which they considered and passed a number of resolutions.

First, I want to thank all of you for your support in the recent Regional Director elections. It is an honor to serve as your Region 9 Director and I look forward to working with you in the coming months.
I know it hasn’t been that long since our statewide convention in May, but we already have an Executive Board meeting coming up on August 18th. For the first time, E-Board will be held in the Central Valley at the Visalia Marriott & Convention Center!
Before any Convention or Executive Board, our region meets per our bylaws. Our Region 9 meeting will be hybrid, allowing for virtual and in-person attendance.

For anyone wishing to bring forward a resolution for our region to endorse, please send it to me by Tuesday, July 11th so it can be added it to our agenda. Any resolutions for consideration at E-Board must be submitted by the Wednesday, July 19th deadline at 5:00pm. More information on how to write and submit a resolution can be found at:
Every two years, the California Democratic Party updates and adopts our Party’s Platform. The Platform Committee is already beginning to draft the 2024 Platform. The Platform Committee is currently accepting written and virtual in-person testimony, suggested language, and changes/feedback to the current Platform.
If you would like to provide input on the 2024 Platform, please fill out the form using the link below. List the Platform plank which you are submitting testimony, suggested language, and your reasons for the change.
You must fill out a form for each plank for which you wish to give testimony.
The deadline to submit testimony online is Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 5:00pm.
