Join us on May 27, 2021 at 7pm-8:30pm for a fun-filled event to celebrate our work to paint our Central Valley Blue in 2022!

Your donations and ticket purchase will support efforts by our Democratic Party County Central Committees (Kings County, Stanislaus County, and San Joaquin County in the Central Valley and partners Contra Costa County and Santa Clara County) to defend and retake House seats in the Central Valley!

On Thursday, May 6, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

The Committee heard from Special Guest Falmouth City Council Member Hope Cahan and Guest Speaker District Attorney Jeff Rosen.

The Committee voted to support AB 20, the Corporate-Free Elections Act, and a set of 12 Climate Action bills.

Two resolutions were passed:

• Resolution in Support of California Universal Child Care
• Resolution Condemning Statement by Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone

Six members were elected to the CADEM Executive Board:

• Bill James
• Angelica Ramos
• Michael Vargas
• Sousan Manteghi
• Ruben Navarro
• Roxanne

On Thursday, April 1, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

Two resolutions were passed:

• Resolution in support of AB 1400, Single-Payer Legislation in the State of California
• Resolution to Stop the Republican Recall of Governor Gavin Newsom

The Committee received Bystander Intervention Training presented by Courtney Mangus of the Council of American-Islamic Relations, and learned How to Delegate Like a Pro at the CADEM Convention

The State of California announced today that the County of Santa Clara has met the requirements to move into the Orange Tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. As with the shift to the Red Tier on March 3, the County will continue to align with the State’s framework for Orange Tier activities. This allows Orange Tier activities to resume, effective Wednesday, March 24. However, many of these activities remain very high risk even though they are now allowed.

RBG would have been 89 years old on March 15, so let’s gather for a virtual brunch to celebrate the Supreme Queen and honor the work that she has championed to empower women everywhere. The event will kick off with a live performance by Joyce Randolph followed by empowered women paying tribute to RBG and sharing inspiration and insight on what’s next in the fight for gender justice. Special guest speaker, Ruth Silver Taube. Opening comments by Sally Armendariz and Miracle Tao. Santa Clara Youth Poet Laureate Candidate Trisha Lyer will share some of her beautiful and thought provoking writings with us.

We will also join our elected women leaders at their “tables” aka breakout rooms to strategize, advocate, celebrate, and mostly just to have some fun! (Don’t forget to bring your coffee and muffins or RBG’s favorite; sesame bagel with lox and lots of cream cheese, oh and she loved her mimosas!)
