On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:
We approved SCCDP meeting dates for 2024, considered two environmental resolutions, and heard club reports, announcements of club holiday events, endorsed candidate updates, and officer and director reports.Â

The following resolution was postponed:
Join the Santa Clara County Democratic Party (SCCDP) National Team for a 2024 election kick–off party on MLK Day, Monday Jan 15th 11AM-2PM at the SCCDP Headquarters in San Jose.
Learn how we plan to volunteer to help keep the presidency and the Senate as well as flip the House. We will roll out a multifaceted preliminary plan with phone banking, texting, voter registration events and canvassing. We also look forward to hearing from everyone about what issues and actions are getting them the most energized going into the crucial 2024 elections.
As part of the event, we will have amazing speakers from our local community that know that your volunteer work is what will lead to success in 2024. We will also have an optional MLK day of service stations where you will be able to participate in a community service event. Lunch will be served. This is a free of charge event. It is not a fundraiser.
RSVP today and invite a friend to join us!
We are proud to partner with the California Ranked Choice Voting Coalition, CalRCV, to host listening sessions to inform the community about an exciting new law that will give the County of Santa Clara the ability to implement Ranked Choice Voting for County elections.
Ranked Choice Voting was recently adopted in Bay Area cities such as San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley, allowing voters to rank their preferred candidates, with the winner determined by a simple majority.
The County has shown an interest in ranked choice voting for some time. In 1998, voters passed Measure F which ensured ranked choice voting would not be prohibited in the county legislature. In 2019, the county purchased new voting machines that would make ranked choice voting possible.
