We elected Judy Pipkin to fill a vacancy in AD 27, heard from Amah Mutsun Tribal Band representative Lou Chiaramonte and San Jose Charter Review Commissioner Huy Tran, and announced a vacancy in AD 29.
If we want to flip districts from red to blue, we need to invest in local organizing that educates voters, builds trust in government, and regularly engages community members. We can’t just do it by showing up in the weeks before the election and asking people to vote. The Santa Clara County Democratic Party (SCCDP) is collecting new and gently used winter coats & jackets for adults & children at the SCCDP Headquarters during the month of November to distribute warm clothing to homeless encampments by homeless advocates.
* Any used coats & jackets should be cleaned prior to donation. Monetary donations are also welcomed to purchase essential items needed by the homeless.

Items donated to our November Winter Coat Drive will be distributed by Hope for the Unhoused (H4U), a 501c3 organization that provides over 180 meals per week to the Milpitas Unhoused. H4U also provides essential items, such as tents, sleeping bags, clothing, hygiene packs, etc. to ensure that unhoused are able to survive. As the winter approaches their efforts are focused on ensuring clients have the necessary resources to stay warm.
