April 2022 Central Committee Recap

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

Endorsed the following candidates and ballot measures in the June 7, 2022 Primary Election:

  • Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors
  • Ballot Measures
    • Measure B: Mayoral Election
    • Measures E, G, H, and I: School Bonds and Parcel Taxes

Approved Bylaws changes regarding redistricting and vacancies, heard about upcoming SCCDP Walk Days with endorsed City Council candidates, and voted to support SB 1360, The Disclosure Clarity Act.

On Thursday, March 10, 2022, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee endorsed the following candidates in the June 7, 2022 Primary Election:

Vigil for Peace

Orchard City Indivisible (OCI) is putting together a Vigil for Peace this upcoming Tuesday, March 8th. Our goal is to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine, the protestors in Russia and all other world citizens that feel the harsh sting of oppression.

           Where: San Jose City Hall near the Rotunda

                         200 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA 95113

           When: March 8th from 6 to 7pm

           What to bring: candles, signs promoting peace and solidarity

We are planning to have a series of actions available for people to participate in during the event.

If your group would like to co-host this event, please let us know by end of day on Sunday, March 6th.  We don’t currently have any “day of” needs but will keep you all in the loop, as needs arise between now and Tuesday.

If you have a potential speaker in mind, please have them get in contact with us directly by Sunday so that we can coordinate the event.

February 2022 Central Committee Recap

On Thursday, February 3, 2022, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

We elected Tony Alexander and Lucy Khuu in AD 25 and Olivia Navarro in AD 28 to fill SCCDCC vacancies, heard a presentation from StackedPAC, received an update from Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network (RRN), and passed a Resolution Denouncing the Increase in Antisemitism.

We adjourned in memory of Dan Hoffman and Jay Jackman, and shared these remembrances:

January 2022 Central Committee Recap

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

We announced one SCCDCC vacancy each in AD 25 and AD 28 to be filled at the February 3, 2022 meeting, approved an ordered slate of members to fill vacancies to DSCC ( State Convention delegates ), approved the Bylaws Review Report with one amendment, approved a Resolution in Support of Seamless Transit Principles and a Letter in support of the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act ( COPA ), and announced the UDC Steering Committee for 2022-2023.

December Winter Coat Drive

The Santa Clara County Democratic Party (SCCDP) is collecting new and gently used winter coats & jackets for adults & children at the SCCDP Headquarters during the month of December to distribute warm clothing to homeless encampments by homeless advocates.

* Any used coats & jackets should be cleaned prior to donation. Monetary donations are also welcomed to purchase essential items needed by the homeless.

When: Month of December, Mon – Fri, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm
