December 2021 Central Committee Recap

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

We heard from State Senate Candidate Aisha Wahab, and disability rights activist David Forderer, reviewed final language for a Resolution in Support of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, through Anti Bias and Anti Racist Training, elected Jacquie Heffner to fill a vacancy in AD 29, discussed and approved the meeting schedule for 2022, announced vacancies in the Democratic State Central Committee to be filled in January, heard an update on the CADEM Convention in March and on the SCCDCC Endorsement Committee, considered and approved a Club Charter Renewal Request from the East San Jose Democrats, and heard a first reading of proposed bylaws and acts changes to be considered for approval in January.

On Thursday, November 4, 2021, the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee took the following actions:

We elected Judy Pipkin to fill a vacancy in AD 27, heard from Amah Mutsun Tribal Band representative Lou Chiaramonte and San Jose Charter Review Commissioner Huy Tran, and announced a vacancy in AD 29.

November Winter Coat Drive

The Santa Clara County Democratic Party (SCCDP) is collecting new and gently used winter coats & jackets for adults & children at the SCCDP Headquarters during the month of November to distribute warm clothing to homeless encampments by homeless advocates.

* Any used coats & jackets should be cleaned prior to donation. Monetary donations are also welcomed to purchase essential items needed by the homeless.

When: Month of November, Mon – Fri, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm

Items donated to our November Winter Coat Drive will be distributed by Hope for the Unhoused (H4U), a 501c3 organization that provides over 180 meals per week to the Milpitas Unhoused. H4U also provides essential items, such as tents, sleeping bags, clothing, hygiene packs, etc. to ensure that unhoused are able to survive. As the winter approaches their efforts are focused on ensuring clients have the necessary resources to stay warm.
