Walk with Cindy Chavez

Please join me and fellow Democrats this Saturday morning to walk for Cindy Chavez for Mayor of San Jose.

We’ll talk to voters about why it’s important to elect Cindy Chavez at this critical moment. Democrats have delivered on the national level, addressing the pandemic, rebuilding our infrastructure, reinvigorating our economy, tackling runaway medical costs and the climate crisis, defending our reproductive rights and other freedoms, and preserving our democracy.

Locally, we face great challenges, including a continuing need to uplift our local small businesses and communities after the pandemic, housing, homelessness, economic inequality, and public safety. We need local leaders, like Cindy Chavez, who will address these issues through experience, demonstrated competence, and strong Democratic and community values.

I’ll lead our effort and will be there bright and early to welcome you and our other volunteers. Please join us!

RSVP to me at chair@sccdp.org or just show up Saturday morning. The election is near and it’s no time to sit on the sidelines!

The New Civil War – Wedge Issues and Culture Wars

Please join us this Saturday, August 13, 2022, 7pm-8:30pm, live and in person (with plenty of room to practice social distance) at the Roosevelt Community Center, 901 E Santa Clara St, San Jose, CA, 95116, for a roundtable discussion on how “wedge issues” and fabricated “culture wars” are used to mobilize and manipulate voters.

The panel features Dr. Will Armaline, Director of the Human Rights Institute at San Jose State University, our own Director of Diversity and Inclusion and Gilroy City Council member Rebeca Armendariz, and Rev. Jeff Moore, Past President of the Silicon Valley NAACP.

Our democracy is under attack, and we hope this panel will inform and inspire you to fight back!
